WHAT?
Reply:First, make sure it's truly a leg length difference, and not a back/hip/postural issue which may throw seasoned medical and orthopedic folks off the trail. Treat the root cause, and not just throw rubber or plastic into the mix. And be prepared for an adjustment period of discomfort while bones and muscles become re-educated to the new mix of things between you and the road beneath you. Even a pebble in your shoe (or an orthotic from a chain store) can take a while to get used to !

I personally have used, and have colleagues who've successfully used orthtocists who specialize in cutting, lifting, and re-soling favorite walking, running and hiking footwear. Many are simple cobblers and shoe repair folks who, with simple "prescriptions" written by your health care person who's done measurements, can really save you a ton and do it in a week.
