Will new insoles/footbeds rejuvenate my 1.5 yr old running shoes???

I alternate between two pairs of running shoes, I bought them around the same time and just replaced my New Balance pair with the new 790s which are nice so far. I would like to keep My INOV8 Terroc330s though they have been great. Will a GOOD footbed save my shoes from the thrift shop?

I used to do the same thing (buy insoles to extend shoe life)...and after some joint pain and other aches, I noticed that it's far better to just replace the shoes. A good pair of insoles can cost 20-25% as much as a new pair of shoes. I'd get the shoes. Happy running!

Reply:Try some Nike Frees.
Reply:Shoes should be replaced between 300-500 miles. the cushioning in the shoe breaks down in the actual structure of the shoe not the inserts you can replace and you could be risking injury by jarring the joints to much.try finding and buying a new pair of your favorites.
Reply:It really depends on how much running you do.

If you only do a couple miles a week, I'd say go ahead and get the insoles.

If you are training for a marathon, get new shoes.
Reply:Only for the cushion but you will lose the support.

It's hard when you have to find new running shoes due to your faves being discontinued.

Reply:My shoes are like 2 years old, the only ones I wear and they're still great, you must run a LOT, I suggest you just buy some more if you're that serious
