what are the best running shoes that are less than $100?
What are the best running shoes?
Ok Here's the thing. All you need is a great pair of running shoes. But here's the catch...the price may be expensive but that may be more for your benefit. If you go to a basic store that sells shoes, don't count on them to tell you which kind is the best. Chances are, they are just going to tell you to go with the most expensive shoes. Running isn't all about your feet however, your knees pay a big part on shoe decisions.
If you have pronation of the knees that can dramatically effect your back, quads, and a lot of other muscles in the body. Pronation is when your knees go outward, inward, or not at all.
--knees go inward or outward---you may want to invest in a pair of shoes that have gray shading in the arch of the shoe that is shown on the outside. That means that it will give you more support on where you need it most.
--slightly heavy-- you want to invest in a pair of shoes that are mostly, if not all, cushion. The impact on your knees could damage your back, so it is important. Asics is the best cushioning shoe.
--flat footed-- you may want to go with a shoe that raises your heel up. You can tell this by having shading on the heel area. Also by having inserts put in, that always makes the running impact so much better, especially on concrete.
--high arch-- you want to also go with cushion. Each shoe should have a specific design for the arch. Also put in inserts.
--bad ankles-- if you go to your orthropedic doctor, tell him that you have bad ankles and he will order you some lateral heel wedges. You should just order these on your own and save he sitting fee. What this will do is elevate your footin a way that it will be harder to roll your ankle. It took me 8 ankle sprains to realize that i should use these.

Reply:thanks i hope this helps you. you can never count on the people in the stores to tell you what shoe is best. Don't listen to them unless fitting you for the right shoe is their specialty. don't worry, if you invest in a great pair of shoes, you will be saving a trip to the doctor. Report It
Reply:Yikes! Although Betty has plenty of info very little of it pertains to an individual.
Go to a RUNNING STORE, get fitted for RUNNING SHOES. If they don't WATCH you run and do a foot pressure analysis you are setting yourself up for more injury, especially if you are already injury prone. Report It
Reply:As for her closing statement:
"the recomended brand for road running, Asics
the recomended brand for trail running is New balance
the recomended brand for track running is Nike"
It's bull and overgeneralized. You cannot group brands into appropriate running shoes as a whole. Report It
Reply:I like the Nike Air Pegasus. They are one of the most popular shoes for runners who want a soft comfortable "neutral" shoe. If you need a "stability" shoe, which is stiffer and offers more support, the Pegasus would probably not be the best choice. You can buy orthotics (inserts) to help correct problems with hi arches etc. The best bet is to go to a store that specializes in running shoes and supplies, and let the pros fit you for the proper shoes. Be sure to bring in your old running shoes so that the salesperson can look at the wear patterns on the soles to help determine your running style. I wear the Pegasus for training and longer races (10K to 1/2 marathon), but I sometimes wear my Mizuno Wave Riders for shorter races (5K and less). If you are not near a city where there is running shoe store (Fleetfeet, etc.), try the Pegasus. Hard to go wrong with them. Best wishes.
Reply:depends on if you pronate or not. in my experience, ascis and the higher end new balance have always treated me well. try to stay away from the technology nike has (360, shox, etc). it all depends on you though. i prefer the gel technology to the air. but for under 100, midline asics and new balances should do
Reply:Brooks. they fit the best and they are comfortable. you also run really well in them.
Reply:nike, addidas, and1
Reply:With all my experince in running and I've ran in every brand known to man from every from nike to brooks, there's only brand I now buy and thats Mizuno. I ran 1000 miles on a pair before I to give them up and they still havent fell apart. They have a different Mizuno for what your foot type is. Go to a running store and ask for a Mizuno but which Mizuno would work well with your feet. They are the most durable and most comfortable shoes on the market.
Reply:what fits the best depends on your foot size and shape
ex) do you have narrow feet? wide feet? no arches etc
you want a light weight shoe that gives you good support and wont cause blisters
Reply:you should try getting the shoe brand Saucony(I have those shoes and they work beautifully) they come with spikes too
$60
Reply:Nick Air
Reply:saucony. they give you a lot of arch support and have a lot of room in the toe box
Reply:new balance and nike
Reply:stay away from Nike they make pretty shoe that suck. stick to a company that does ruining and only ruining. such as asics. since 95%+ people pronate I'm guessing you do too try kayano XII or XIII by asics
Reply:Nike Air Max are the best running shoes.
Reply:The best shoes are shoes that could break a world record in running.
Reply:Almost all the best running shoes are under $100.
Go to a running store, not a mall athletic store, and get properly fitted. They will recommend the best shoe for you. The best shoe for you may not be the best shoe for other people.
Reply:depends go to a running store and get fitted for running shoes, then tell them ur price range, they will find what will work for u
