Can a really good pair of running shoes improve your running times for cross country?

i have some nikes dat i have had for a year. i have not been happy with them cuz theyre the gayest shoes i have bought. i am not happy with them. when i run, my calves and legs always hurt but i dont get tired from running at all. its just the pain in my legs. ppl told me to buy new shoes to fell comfortable. will they actually make me run faster and more comfortable??

ABSOLUTELY. shoes are probably one of the most important aspect of running. If you have a shoe with zero or hardly any support (which sound like yours if you have shin problems) then your feet/legs will hate you for it. Definatly go to a specialized running store and get your foot examined on a computer, they will hook you up with shoes for your running. It will make you run faster since you wont have the pain and they are designed for cross country. I highly reccomend you get some.
Reply:ok umm

dont blame the equipment. unless its like cutting ur heels up or actually hurting you. your leg pains can be from like not streching or something else.

i ran a 5 30 mile with 2 years old k swiss.

faster proable not comfertable most likely if u get the right shoes for you.

but this can also be all in ur head. so after u get new shoes u might think its faster and better but it could just all be mentality
Reply:kinda but kinda not its not the shoes its the runner and heart .shoes arent magical
Reply:It is all about comfort and how you feel running in them. If the shoes will give you that mental edge that is needed to push through the fatigue then by all means go for it. Just make sure you are comfortable both physically (the shoes) and mentally.
