What are good running shoes for wide feet?

I have wide feet ( I%26#039;m a girl !) that are also a bit flat.! Anyone know of any supportive running shoes that would suit that aren%26#039;t extortionate in price? I%26#039;ve heard New Balance might be ok?

What are good running shoes for wide feet?
Go to a specialist running store and get some advice. Staff in runnning shops will watch you run in the shoes, sometimes while filming you on a treadmill, to analyse your gait and recommend the best ones to suit your anatomy and biomechanics.
Reply:Hey I just got the Asics Gel 1120. I have wide and flat feet too! Once you break them in, your running will improve a lot. Trust me! These shoes really are supportive and really absorb the shock. They%26#039;re a little on the pricy side, depending on where you%26#039;re buying them. It cost me 80 dollars, but it was well worth it. To break them in faster, wear them to school everyday. Good luck! BTW, i got these at a regular sports store. If the people there don%26#039;t really help you, get the Asics gel 1120
Reply:My wife introduced me to a Running Lab. In fact there%26#039;s a place by that name; %26quot;Running Lab.%26quot;

They will have you take off your shoes, watch you walk, and even take an imprint of your foot. After doing so, they will spend a few minutes analyzing everything. They will ask you a few questions about your running style and your level of running.

Once they have finished they will direct you to a wall of shoes, that has ALL different brands of shoes on it and say something like; %26quot;These are what we recommend for you based on your foot%26#039;s shape, the way you run, where your foot actually impacts the ground and the width of slimness of your feet.

After they show you the selection, try a few pairs on, take them for a %26quot;test run%26quot; around the block and once you%26#039;ve found a pair that you like, then get them.

They are GREAT! My spouse has ran a marathon and we are training once again for another one coming up in May. We always go to the running lab. Oh...and the shoes, are sold at a great price too.

And there%26#039;s no extra charge for their services...it%26#039;s all part of what they do. So the whole process, from the moment you get in the door to the moment you select your shoes, is free.

Hope this helps...
Reply:I would suggest you buy mens shoes!

I have wide feet too and i find some mens models actually fit me better and won%26#039;t rub the sides of your feet.

As for your flat feet you probably need some support under the arch of your shoe, because at the moment you might be pronating when you are running which can lead to problems with the knees and hips.

The best thing to do is to go to a good sports shop that specialises in running shoes and they can watch you run up and down and tell you what shoe would be best for your running style.

I run everyday and i find Asiscs shoes the best :)
