Which shoes should I wear if I wanna be faster (running)?

I may have to take part in the relay race thing my school is doing, so anyways, I have two shoes. None of them are running shoes, but one of them has a 1cm heel, and the other is basicaly heel-less. The 1cm heel shoe is good if I wanna be taller, and long legs apparently have a role in running, so yea. The heel-less one is good if I wanna minimize my chances of falling down, which i wanna do cause who likes falling down, right?

also, are shorter people better at running than taller people? or is it the other way around? cause i%26#039;m short, and while i may not be the fastest person, i%26#039;m not the slowest. could i become faster if i%26#039;m taller?

You should probably wear the shoe with virtually no heal, because you%26#039;re right, you have less chance of falling down.

And with leg length what matters most is the muscles you have in your length. 1 cm isn%26#039;t going to help much in that area so just go with the flatter shoe.

Being short and tall doesn%26#039;t really go into it, I mean sure, some of it is leg length, but you have to know how to use your muscles to your advantage, and THAT is what is going to make you faster. Hmm, about the issue of becoming faster if you become taller, sure I guess you could, but tall shoes is not going to help. It has to be tallness body wise, tall shoes are just going to hinder your stride.

Hope this helps!
Reply:i dont think so...i think the lighter shoe you have the better you can do.
Reply:If this is just a one race deal, then just wear whatever sneakers you have that are the most comfortable when running. If you%26#039;re going to do more running, you should get some better shoes.

Could you please answer my question

Reply:well if you take it from me...relays require spikes on a rubber track because rubber soles don%26#039;t have as much grip than spikes. spikes are track shoes that are LIGHT running shoes that have metal sharp spikes to press into the rubber track..if your%26#039;re running on a cemented track field than you should try and get some of them special shoes made just for cemented track...and all tall people are not fast because they don%26#039;t know how to balance thier legs to run with a great stride.and short people are the same.even though their legs are shorter they still have the same amount of strength than a tall person.because they have a little bit more upper body strength.so to sum it up neither shoes are good for the occasion .,to peform your best you should have the right type of shoe.soccer requires cleats like football basketball requires ankle support-grippy shoes and like I said track requires spikes.
Reply:There is not high specifications in running. For shoes I would go with a good running shoe, but just good tennis-shoes would work to. If thoes arnt an opption i would get the one with not heal. Heals are bad to run in, they are awful on your feet. Also make sure to wear shoes with good arch support. I didint and know im paying the price (my arch is collapsing)

Hope i hellped
Reply:If the relay race is a serious thing get or barrow running shoes that fit. Spikes are good if it%26#039;s on a track.

If those aren%26#039;t options go with the heel-less shoes.

One of the most important things about a relay race is to make a good hand-off so I wouldn%26#039;t worry about too much of the tall vs short people.
Reply:the best shoes are shoes that match your arc. If u have trouble with tall runners, work on turnover
