can anyone help or advise on a good quality and comfortable pair of mens trail/fell running shoes?
preferably at not too high a price either

Choice of any running shoe is very personnal - its whether it fits your foot or not and every foot is slightly different, so one brands size 9, might be slightly smaller than another and wont fit so well.
Best option is to go to a specialist ruinning shop and get them to advise you and to try on several pairs.
I have Innov running shoes and they do me OK - whether they are good for you is another matter though.
If the running shop advises shoes that are too expensive, you could always make some excuses and try to see if you can get them online, however that is a bit dodgy I think if they have spent the time sorting a good shoe for you.
